01 About DriveRight

DriveRight is a WhatsApp-based ride-hailing platform operated in Lagos, Nigeria. We connect passengers with vetted, professional drivers through our AI assistant, Demi, via WhatsApp.

DriveRight is operated by DriveRight Technologies Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria. By using our service — whether as a passenger booking a ride or a driver providing transportation — you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

02 Using Our Service

To use DriveRight as a passenger you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age or have parental consent
• Have a valid WhatsApp account and active phone number
• Provide accurate pickup and drop-off information
• Be present at the pickup location within a reasonable time of driver arrival

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any account that violates these terms, is used abusively, or causes harm to drivers or other passengers.

03 Booking & Fares

All rides are booked through WhatsApp by messaging our AI assistant, Demi. When you confirm a ride, a binding booking is created between you and the matched driver.

Fares are calculated as follows:

• Base fare: ₦500 per trip
• Distance rate: ₦90 per kilometre
• Minimum fare: ₦700

The fare shown at the time of booking confirmation is locked in and will not change, regardless of traffic or route changes made by the driver. What Demi quotes is what you pay.

04 Payments

DriveRight accepts the following payment methods:

• Digital payment — via a secure Paystack link sent to your WhatsApp (card, bank transfer, USSD)
• Cash — paid directly to your driver at trip completion

For digital payments, funds are processed securely by Paystack. DriveRight does not store your card details. All transactions are encrypted and protected.

In the event of a payment dispute, please contact us via WhatsApp within 48 hours of the trip. We will investigate and respond within 24 hours.

05 Cancellations & Refunds

You may cancel a ride at any time before your driver arrives at your pickup location at no charge.

Refunds are issued as follows:

• Driver no-show — 100% refund + ₦300 account credit
• Wrong route taken — 100% refund (GPS verified)
• Rude or unsafe driver — 100% refund + driver review
• AC not working / dirty vehicle — 50% refund
• Safety incident — 100% refund + immediate driver suspension

Refunds under ₦10,000 are processed automatically by Demi. Refunds above ₦10,000 are reviewed by our operations team within 2 hours. All approved refunds are returned to your original payment method within 1–3 business days.

06 Passenger Conduct

Passengers are expected to treat DriveRight drivers with respect and dignity at all times. The following are strictly prohibited:

• Physical or verbal abuse of drivers
• Requesting or encouraging illegal activity
• Damaging the driver's vehicle — you will be liable for repair costs
• Providing false pickup or destination information
• Repeated no-shows without cancellation (3 no-shows results in account review)
• Leaving unfair or retaliatory ratings

Passengers who violate these rules will have their accounts suspended or permanently banned without refund.

07 Driver Conduct

All DriveRight drivers agree to a separate Driver Agreement which covers their obligations, commission structure, and welfare benefits. Key expectations include:

• Maintaining a clean, roadworthy vehicle at all times
• Treating every passenger with courtesy and professionalism
• Following the confirmed route unless redirected by the passenger
• Maintaining a rating of 4.3 stars or above
• Completing the DriveRight training programme before their first trip

Drivers who fall below our quality standards are placed under review. Repeated violations result in permanent deactivation.

08 Safety & Emergencies

DriveRight takes safety seriously. If you feel unsafe during any ride:

• Send SOS to DriveRight on WhatsApp — our team is alerted within seconds
• Your live GPS location and driver details are immediately shared with our operations team
• For life-threatening emergencies, call 112 (Nigeria Emergency) immediately

All trips are tracked via GPS. Drivers are not permitted to deviate from the agreed route without passenger consent. Route deviations trigger an automatic alert to our operations team.

09 Limitation of Liability

DriveRight is a technology platform connecting passengers and drivers. While we vet all drivers thoroughly, we cannot guarantee the actions of independent drivers and accept no liability for:

• Delays caused by traffic, weather, or road conditions
• Loss of personal property left in a vehicle
• Indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service

Our total liability to any passenger for any claim arising from the use of DriveRight shall not exceed the fare paid for the trip in question.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Lagos State.
